Transparency is a key part of buying a vehicle, but is especially important when you are not here to physically see the vehicle that you will be purchasing. To ease the process, River City Nissan provides you with a detailed high-definition video of your vehicle so that you can look over every aspect for yourself.We will also give you a detailed mechanical report, and an ICBC or CarProof claims history with full disclosure at every point of the process. Our dedicated staff will do everything in their power to ensure that you needs are not only met, but are exceeded.
The tax process is actually simple. You only pay the portion of taxes for the province where you live.We will provide you with all of the required government forms, and you will be reimbursed any taxes that you would not pay in your own province (usually within 4 – 6 weeks). The Canada Revenue Agency has additional details on out-of-province purchases. Say that you live in Alberta. You have two options:
  1. Picking up the vehicle in Kamloops:
if you choose to pick up your vehicle and drive it home, you will have to pay PST and GST (12%) at the point of purchase. After the Government receives and processes your forms, they will reimburse you the PST (7%) portion, guaranteed.
  1. Shipping the vehicle:
If you make arrangements to deliver a vehicle to a non-HST province, then you will only pay GST (5%), which you will be charged at the point of delivery.
Shipping is an attractive option for many of our clients, and we have a large network of trusted partners that will ensure that your vehicle arrives in a timely manner, and that it will be properly cared for on its journey. You can still benefit from the tax savings that you receive by trading a vehicle in, and if you need our shipping department can arrange to have your trade-in shipped to our location. How do I know that my vehicle is in good condition without seeing it?

As a trusted Nissan dealership in Kamloops, we will provide you with all of the information that you need to make a confident purchase decision including CarProof or ICBC insurance reports, as well as detailed mechanical reports. You will also have a fully personalized HD video of the vehicle you are looking to purchase so you can see it for your own eyes.

What if my vehicle is damaged during shipping?

All of our shipping partners are fully insured. If any damages are found after transport, they will be rectified. We will send you a final walk-around of your vehicle before it leaves our dealership so that you have a final record of its condition before being transported. Both us and our trusted shipping partners will work together to ensure that you are taken care of.

Will I need an inspection once my car arrives?

If you are shipping a pre-owned vehicle outside of B.C. then you will require an out-of-province inspection. This low-cost inspection is merely a formality to ensure your vehicle meets the requirements of your province. Our strict reconditioning standards ensure that your vehicle will meet these requirements, and we will provide documentation of your original service inspection via email and print.

What does Certified mean and what does it get me?

A Certified Used Nissan Vehicle has undergone a strict inspection process before qualifying for the program. When you buy a Certified vehicle from our dealership you will have access to special finance rates, warranty options, as well as confidence that your vehicle meets the highest inspection standards.

If don’t buy a Nissan does that mean I am getting a sub-standard vehicle?

Absolutely not. We are dedicated to ensuring that we sell a quality vehicle no matter what the brand. Our entire pre-owned inventory has been fully safety inspected and reconditioned to the standards set by our dealership and dealer group.

What kind of finance rate can I get?

We work with a number of financial institutions to ensure that we get you the most competitive rate for the vehicle you are purchasing. A number of factors can affect what rate we can get. Our Financial Services Office will work diligently to give you the best rates for your vehicle.

What guarantee or warranty options come with my vehicle?

Depending on the vehicle that you are purchasing, there may or may not be a remaining manufacturer’s warranty. We can also help tailor a warranty that meets your specific needs. Our Sales Consultants and Financial Services managers will work with you to ensure you are getting the proper and adequate coverage for your new vehicle.

Do you offer protection packages or 3M?

Yes, we offer many products intended to protect your new investment including options like rust proofing, undercoating, paint protection, 3M, leather and vinyl protection, window tint and more. We can also easily add any of these items to your finance or lease contract.
